St. louis filmmakers showcase

It’s a huge honor to be selected to screen at a festival in my hometown, especially as the world premiere! I remember after it was screened, a lot of people reached out to me and told me they loved it. A lot of people I respect dearly. It was a tremendous honor. I couldn’t think of a better festival for the world premiere.

Sprrkle Collective AWARD: Best Actress for Rachel Ehret

It was a huge honor to be selected into a film festival out of Los Angeles, but it was an even bigger honor to see that my lead actress, Rachel Ehret, won best actress at this festival! She was a truly important part of the film, and to see her hard work recognized is amazing.

swiff

This was the 2nd local film festival Diagnosis was selected to. It was one of about 20ish films selected and I know hundreds were submitted, so it was truly a tremendous honor to screen here.

Direct Monthly Online Film Festival March AWARD WINNER: CRITICS CHOICE AWARD

Diagnosis is still out here winning awards, and now its won a pretty big one! For the March edition of this monthly festival, Diagnosis won the Critics Choice award! It was one of the biggest honors handed out. The critics employed by this organization hand out an award on their own, and I got it. It was such a tremendous honor!

Being selected to an international festival is an honor, to say the least. To know my film is enjoyed regardless of cultural boundaries. Feels awesome.

CONTINENTAL film festival: semi-finalist: best CINEMATOGRAPHY nomination for logan jordan

Being selected to a film festival is an absolute honor, but it was an even bigger honor to see my DP and good friend, Logan Jordan’s work recognized. Logan was such a critical aspect of production but also pre-production, the cinematography is easily one of the best aspects of the film, and I could not have done it without him!

RED FINCH FILM FESTIVAL

Just because the film was released online didn’t mean it was done being submitted to various film festivals, and the Red Finch Film Festival was the first 2020 festival for Diagnosis. What an honor!

PICASSO EINSTEIN BUDDHA International Film Festival AWARD WINNER: BEST STORY

Yet another festival from outside of the United States, and the second festival from India! That makes India the only country besides the United States to have multiple festivals with Diagnosis in them. I don’t know what that means, but it sure seems cool. Diagnosis also won Best Story at this festival, which was a huge honor.

First Friday Film Festival - Kansas City

This festival is quite selective from what I’ve been told, so it’s a huge honor to have my film selected to screen there! I was able to attend the festival in person and participated in a Q&A session with the other directors present, what a fun time!

COUCH FILM festival: finalist: best DRAMA

This was the first time I got selected to a festival in Canada! Which was really exciting, but what was even more exciting is that it got nominated for Best Drama in the 10 to 20 minutes category. Being selected to a film festival is absolutely amazing and a wonderful honor as is, but knowing the festival saw it as among the best of the best for that edition was absolutely amazing. Thank you, Couch Film Festival!

MINDIE 2019 MONTHLY EDITION - BLACK.png

Mindie - Miami Independent Film Festival

Miami! That’s a pretty cool city, and being selected in the monthly edition of a film festival in a pretty cool city makes me pretty cool myself, right? I sure hope so!

EURASIA INTERNATIONAL FILM festival: finalist: best SHORT FILM

Being selected to a film festival is an absolute honor, but seeing that I was nominated for Best Drama was an even bigger honor. I also looked into the festival rules, and Finalist essentially means that I came in 2nd place. Which is such an absolute honor.

OFFICIAL SELECTION - Webster Film Festival - 2020.png

Webster film festival

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere on my website. Webster University is the place that taught me how to be a filmmaker. They’ve been running a film festival for 3 years now. I had a film at the 2018 edition and now I have Diagnosis at the 2020 edition. It means a lot to me to have my film be honored by my local festival.

FINALIST: BEST LIVE ACTION NARRATIVE: Lift-Off Sessions April 2020

Another monthly online festival! I was honored to be selected for the April 2020 edition and I’m excited to see how far Diagnosis goes in Online Voting.

OFFICIAL SELECTION - Monthly Indie Shorts - 2020.png

Monthly Indie shorts - june 2020 edition

This was, as far as I was able to tell, the first crop of monthly selections for this film festival! It was an honor to be among the first in a festival that I’m sure will have many years ahead of it!

indo-global international film festival award winner: best theme

Being selected to a festival from India is a pretty big honor in of itself, but winning an award from it? Now that is a huge honor, being able to break through cultural boundaries and have an award winning film with it is just incredible. Such an honor.

OFFICIAL SELECTION - Bharat International Film Festival - 2021 (1).png

Bharat International Film Festival

The amount of festivals in India that Diagnosis has been selected to is still really cool to me, even though we are different cultures, the themes and message of Diagnosis still resonates. I am incredibly proud of that.

top indie film awards winner: best Message

TOP INDIE FILM AWARDS NOMINEE: BEST STUDENT FILM

TOP INDIE FILM AWARDS NOMINEE: BEST EDITING

Top Indie Film awards really loved Diagnosis, but they loved the message most of all! It’s an honor to see Diagnosis consistently be given props for it’s message and themes, that means the world to me because of how deeply personal the film is. Thank you! It was also fantastic to see my good friend and editor Joe Boevingloh get some award love, Diagnosis wouldn’t be what it is without him.

MORE AWARDS/NOMINATIONS

Honorable Mention Best Original Story - Florence Film Awards - April 2020.png

Honorable mention: best original story - Florence FILM FESTIVAL

Another international festival, and another nomination for Diagnosis’ story. Like I’ve said before, it’s truly just an honor beyond words to have this story resonate with so many people across so many borders. I wanted this to be a story anyone could believe in, and it makes me so happy to know that it is regardless of culture, beyond my wildest dreams.

PRINCETON TIGER AWARD - EXCELLENCE IN FILMMAKING - Nassau Film Festival

I was sincerely not expecting any more awards for Diagnosis, but because of the covid-19 pandemic, some of the festivals I submitted to got delayed. This one got delayed long enough that even in 2021, over two years after I shot it, I was still winning awards. And this one is a cool one, it’s a special juried award they give to certain films they believe display excellent filmmaking. I’m so honored, and thank you to Nassau!

award: best student film - The monthly film festival APRIL 2020

NOMINEE: BEST ACTRESS - THE MONTHLY FILM FESTIVAL APRIL 2020

This festival gets hundreds if not thousands of submissions a month, it’s one of the most popular monthly festivals on FilmFreeway, and despite all the noise: My film still managed to stand out and get one of the top prizes that netted me trophy I proudly display. It was an honor beyond belief to also see Rachel stand out among the thousands of performances and be one of the top three actresses for that month! What an honor, thank you so much!
